This was yet another chance to play with my digital backgrounds and props. I enjoy playing with things in photoshop, but I wish sometimes there was an easier way to cut my subjects out from their background without using a chromakey screen... Still, these sessions were fun.

Grace Wedding - 2/26/11
I had the priviledge of being both the maid of honor (one of two) and the photographer for this particular wedding. My son was the ring bearer and wore the cutest little tux! I loved the disney tones to the wedding and it was so great to see two of my friends finally tying the knot! I only cried when they were announced man and wife. ;)
I made the mistake of only using my telephoto zoom lens for the entire wedding - I was thinking the venue was much bigger than it actually was (though it was big).
The lighting was also low so my ISO had to be set fairly high with the widest my aperature would go...

Marissa - 12/14/10
Christmas session. I had taken Gracie's pictures at the studio I work at prior to this, but we had a lot of fun shooting in my personal studio. It also gave me an opportunity to play more with my digital backdrops. :)

Elisha & Jonathan - 11/10/10
Christmas photos I shot mostly on a green screen and used digital backgrounds. I also got a new portrait enhancing program that I got to play with for the first time. :)

Portrait Parties
I've had a great response to my green screen photos so far:
I'm starting up "Optimistic Portrait Parties" (the name is tenative) to have some fun with my new digital background setup and create some beautiful art for my customers!
I will bring my studio setup to the home of the host/hostess and set it up in the living room, dining room, wherever! The party guests each bring $35 and then if the host can guarantee at least 5 guests, their fee is free. Guests can bring their kids, their family, or just themselves. I do a 10-15 minute session for each guest. Then the party goers can mingle while I put together some art prints from the photos I took. (About a half an hour to an hour depending on the amount of guests.)
I bring the guests one by one to view their art pieces (I can do solid backgrounds, too, if an art piece is not what the guest is looking for, of course.) and choose their favorite(s). In a couple weeks' time they'll receive an 8x10, 2 - 5x7's, and 8 wallets of their favorite art. Additional sheets would be available for purchase for an additional and reasonable price at the party. The host can recieve gifts, free products, and reduced prices!
The break down:
These are a LOT of fun! I can't wait to hear from you!

- Each guest pays a fee of $35
- If 5 or more guests come, the host's $35 fee is FREE
- I take a 10-15 minute session for each guest
- Guests mingle while I create art from their portraits
- Guests can view their portrait art and make orders
- the $35 fee automatically gives each guest
- 1 - 8x10
- 2 - 5x7
- 8 walletson the ONE pose of their choosing
- Hosts can recieve gifts, products, and reduced prices!
These are a LOT of fun! I can't wait to hear from you!
